President's Message - June 2026
President's Message - June 2026
There’s something about June that feels a little different. Maybe it’s the longer days, the graduation celebrations, or the way our calendars begin to loosen up just enough to catch our breath. After months of early mornings and packed schedules, this time of year offers a chance to pause for a moment and look back before turning our attention to what comes next.
And when I reflect on this Chamber year, I keep coming back to one word: gratitude.
I’m grateful for every member, sponsor, volunteer, speaker, and attendee who helped make this such a meaningful year for our Chamber community. Together, we gathered for conversations that challenged us to think differently, events that strengthened relationships, and opportunities that reminded us why connection matters.
Over the past year, we explored economic trends at OUTLOOK, celebrated immigrant entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders, supported families through Fill the Food Bank, connected directly with policymakers at our Beacon Hill Summit, and recognized the outstanding businesses, organizations, and individuals helping advance Western Massachusetts and our region. Along the way, we shared countless cups of coffee, exchanged ideas, made introductions, and built the relationships that make our Chamber community so special.
One of the things I love most about this work is that no two events are ever exactly alike, yet the reason people come together remains remarkably consistent. Whether we’re discussing workforce challenges, celebrating local success stories, or advocating for our region, there is always a shared desire to learn from one another and contribute to something bigger than ourselves.
Our Springfield Regional Chamber Spotlight and Annual Meeting earlier this month was a wonderful reminder of that spirit. It was an opportunity to celebrate the people behind the progress and reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together. Congratulations again to Dawn DiStefano, our Richard J. Moriarty Citizen of the Year, and to all of this year's award recipients. Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a special evening.
Before we officially wrap up our event season, I’m looking forward to one final gathering at Barnes Air National Guard Base on June 26. It promises to be a memorable morning and a unique opportunity to learn more about one of our region’s most important assets and the people behind its mission.
As summer begins, I hope you’ll take some time to recharge, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy a few moments away from the demands of your daily routine. The Chamber calendar may slow down for a bit, but the relationships and conversations built throughout the year will continue into the fall. I'm also excited for what's ahead, as we'll soon be unveiling our next slate of events and sponsorship opportunities for the coming year. There is so much to look forward to.
Thank you for being part of this beautiful community and for helping make the Springfield Regional Chamber such a vibrant and welcoming place. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m already looking forward to what the next season will bring.
Until then, enjoy the sunshine and make some summer memories.
