American International College (AIC) has announced a new partnership with Sophia Learning to expand flexible, affordable pathways to degree completion for working adult learners and transfer students.

Through the collaboration, AIC will accept up to 90 transfer credits earned through Sophia Learning toward eligible bachelor’s degree programs. The initiative is designed to support students who are balancing work, family, and other responsibilities while continuing their education.

“This initiative supports transfer students, adult learners, and working professionals by providing an accessible way to complete general education coursework, whether before enrolling at AIC or while pursuing their degree at the College,” said Michael Dodge, provost at AIC. “As part of AIC’s broader commitment to access and student success, the collaboration strengthens regional workforce pipelines while preserving the full, faculty-led academic experience that defines an AIC education.”

The offering provides an alternative pathway for learners seeking greater flexibility in completing general education requirements. It aligns with AIC’s broader degree completion efforts in high-demand fields such as criminal justice, educational studies, and business.

Sophia Learning offers self-paced, online college-level courses recommended for credit by ACE®. The platform provides more than 70 courses and is designed to support learners at different stages of their academic journey.
